Pan Xiang Ji(潘祥记）’s Blueberry Flower Cake, a heritage Yunnan brand.
Yunnan, in southwest China, is a land of extreme contrasts: from river valleys to snow mountains with nearly 7,000m elevation difference. Tropical rainforest, temperate forest, and alpine snow all exist within one region!
Three great rivers: the Nujiang, Lancang and Jinsha , run parallel through deep valleys shaped by the collision of the Indian and Eurasian plates.
This creates a “layered” landscape, where geography feels stacked across time.
Within these layers live many ethnic communities, each with their own crafts, music, and traditions, alongside an incredibly rich ecosystem.
In this project, I imagined Yunnan’s animals forming an orchestra, celebrating spring, when the land blooms again and nature begins another cycle of renewal.
